This time, he’s exploring a machine that seems like it may have come from the pages of a Cyberpunk RPG manual - a shiny chrome Bluetooth Low Vitality (BLE) smart ring that’s packed with sensors, is moderately hacker friendly, and is currently promoting for as little as $20. The ring’s construction is straightforward - the surface is polished anodized steel, with the electronics and battery carefully laid out alongside the inside surface, complete with a magnetic charging port. It has a BLE-enabled MCU, a heartrate sensor, and an accelerometer. It’s not much, but you can do rather a lot with it, from the standard exercise and sleep tracking, Herz P1 Smart Ring to a faucet-sensitive interface for something you need to control from the palm of your hand.
